Dr. Archibald has held various positions in the field of education and private business since 1963. He has served as a teacher of English and social studies; elementary, middle, and high school principalships; assistant superintendent for human resources/chief negotiator; as well as serving for eight years as superintendent of schools in a district of 30,000 students. Additionally, he has managed a building supply business and provides management consultant services to public and private enterprises. Dr. Archibald holds bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees in education, administration, and leadership.
He is past president of the National Association for Year-Round Education. He teaches graduate level management, finance, and personnel courses and has served as a trained mentor and learning partner for new superintendents. His consulting activities include policy development, serving as a project director and team member for organization and management reviews, and technical assistance for charter school development.
Dr. Archibald, a senior consultant for MGT of America, Inc., serves as a founding member and past chairman of the Board of Trustees for the FrancisMarionMilitaryAcademy, a Florida charter school.
He has participated in more than 35 organization and management reviews in school districts with enrollments ranging from under 2,000 to over 285,000 students, state departments of education, and other organizations.
His areas of expertise include board-superintendent relations, policy and legal services, organization development and leadership/management, and human resources including labor relations and contract negotiations.
He is married and has five children, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-grand son born January 6th, 2010.
