Community Supervision and Offender Reentry Assistance

It has been documented that three of five returning ex-offenders will be charged with new crimes within three years of their release from prison and two out of five will be re-incarcerated. MGT is committed to assisting jurisdictions in reducing the recidivism associated with re-entry by identifying those factors, services and programs that, combined with criminal justice supervision, can help ex-offenders become productive members of society. In addition, with the increased use of diversion and alternatives to incarceration it is essential that organizations assess their community supervision programs and strategies.

MGT has extensive experience in the area of probation and parole supervision and in developing and assessing the effectiveness of alternatives to incarceration.

The MGT program evaluation process includes:

  • Identifying the program models and services delivery approaches that reduce recidivism through an empirical review of data;
  • Identifying key processes in the successful program planning and delivery;
  • Identifying problems and issues relative to program implementation;
  • Analyzing the cost effectiveness of programs; and
  • Assessing the supervision strategy and standards to maximize effectiveness and insure the interests of public safety and offender placement.
