MGT conducted a study of specialty law enforcement services. MGT researched, compiled, and analyzed the cost and total expenditures for law enforcement specialty services and analyzed master interlocal agreements between agencies. MGT then developed recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency in delivering specialty services in local jurisdictions. |

State and legislative leaders called upon MGT to determine whether the Sheriff's Office, with over 1,000 officers and other personnel, was adequately funded. MGT conducted a wide-ranging performance review and then reported its findings to the State, including an assessment of the necessary funding for an effective and efficient Sheriff's Office. |

Among other task, MGT assisted in establishing a system that offered complete oversight of the federal criminal justice funding through grants. In doing so, MGT established criteria from which grant application submissions would be reviewed and funding decisions made. Along with establishing the orderly review and award of various federal grants, MGT established means to allow the Council to monitor grant activity and conduct outcome evalutions of programs funded by such grants. |
