MontgomeryCounty (Dayton) Criminal Justice Council, OH Strategic Plan

MGT prepared a three-year strategic plan, establishing priorities for Council attention and identifying gaps in local criminal justice system services. MGT also assisted in establishing a management system for overseeing the distribution of federal criminal justice grant funds. This system established criteria for grant application submission as well as review processes for funding decisions, program coordination, grant activity monitoring, and outcome evaluation

California Office of Traffic Safety Strategic Planning Services

The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) hired MGT for strategic planning, performance measurement and management. MGT first helped OTS develop a strategic plan that established its vision, mission, and values; quantifiable performance measures; and performance targets and dates related to its most critical measures. MGT then assisted OTS to develop a process for collecting, reporting, and analyzing data that would enable the organization to monitor its performance. Finally, MGT facilitated the organization's development and implementation of strategies for achieving those performance targets.

Organizational Assessment and Division Reviews of the Marion County, Oregon Sheriff's Department

The project began with a high-level overview of the Instution and Law Enforcement divisions with an emphasis on financial drivers, departmental organization, and administration. In addition, the project team reviewed the law enforcement division's calls for service data and deployment practices. Following an initial organizational assessment, MGT conducted a more in-depth review of operations of the department's Parole and Probations and Institutions Division, which included the county jail and work center. Along with an operational review, staffing analysis, benchmarking and best practices analysis, MGT conducted a jail population projection study and an inmate classification study to ensure the county is maximizing the use of its current jail space.

Bexar County (San Antonio), Texas Criminal Justice System and Jail Population Study

MGT conducted a criminal justice system and jail population study for Bexar County. Phase I included an assessment of the county's criminal justice system, preparation of an offender demographic study and development of a jail population forecast model. Phase II was the development of an implementation plan to improve the efficiency of the county's justice system. MGT also reviewed the county's data collection and sharing capabilities and developed a Request for Proposal for potential jail diversion programs.

Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Strategic Planning Services

MGT assisted the Florida Office of Prevention and Victim Services with its strategic planning process. MGT facilitated a strategic planning session; conducted site visits, interviews, and/or focus groups on a statewide basis with key stakeholders; and developed a prevention plan that included strategic goals, objectives, and implementation strategies.

DuPage County, Illinois Jail Population Projection Study

MGT reviewed the opeation of the county's justice system and evaluated its programs to reduce jail crowding. MGT developed a 10 year projection of the county's jail population and developed a simulation model of the impact of alternative jail population diversion programs. MGT also assessed the jail's health care delivery system and identified measures to reduce the cost while enhancing the quality of service.

Sangamon County, Illinois Jail Population Review

MGT conducted a comprehensive review of the County's jail population and potential strategies to better manage jail crowding. The project team developed a forecast of future population levels, reviewed jail capacity utilization and assessed alternative programs to manage jail population growth.

Oconee County, SC Fire Master Plan

The goal of this fire master plan was to develop a long-term strategic plan for the county in the area of fire services. Within the county, there are several paid and volunteer departments. The study identified an organizational model for the provision of fire services, strengths upon which to build a long-term capacity for services, weaknesses to overcome through budgetary commitments, and a capital plan for the purchase of vehicles and major equipment. The county will follow the plan for the next 15 years.

Highlands County, FL Fire Services Strategic Planning Services

MGT conducted a fire services strategic plan that involved a comprehensive review of all major aspects of the delivery of fire services within the county. The study resulted in the development of a five-year plan that took into consideration the future needs of station locations, apparatus, communications, staffing, and the potential for functional consolidation. The MGT team worked with a committee of fire chiefs from the 13 fire departments within HighlandsCounty to establish a long-range strategic plan.

California Department of Child Support Services Strategic Planning Services

MGT was hired by the Department (DCSS) to complete an update of its statewide strategic plan for the California Child Support Services Program. After leading DCSS's first strategic planning engagement, MGT returned to DCSS to lead a group of internal stakeholders from the state and county levels through a revision of the program's strategic plan, including revised vision, mission, and value statements; new strategic issues and goals; revised performance measures and objectives; and new message from the director. The plan will be used to focus DCSS and the 58 county agencies that administer the program on specific areas for performance improvement.
